2015 Things of the Year

It's my loosely recollected Things of the Year for 2015. As they say in the classics, "Who gives a fucking shit?"

Expertly placed as an addendum to Chromatics' "Just Like You" in the Gorilla Vs. Bear February Mix. The perfect tune to bring in the cool and the grey of autumn, and to supercede the melodic optimism that the latter part of 2014 had delivered.

Autumn well and truly arrives and the cooler weather makes us feel we can do it all again.

Winter grind & winter mind demand this.

My favourite time of the year - finals time - found both Beach House and Julia Holter peaking at the business end of the season.

This in particular breaks me every time.

The heat returns and the mind disappears, and 2015 melts into a thick, viscous rubbish.

The last show ended up OK despite throat/head issues but this still has the "chance for redemption" tag hovering around it. Hugh (InfraGhosts) again with a really good show poster. Also listening to Louise Love properly for the first time and loving it. Dog Act were initially headlining but unable to play so now one-half of them, Sasha, will be playing solo as automating to open the night.

Excited about playing with my own visuals for the first time on Wednesday night; terrified about where this (currently minor) headcold might be going between now and then. At least there'll be more of a distraction than usual.
